Together for Child Vitality is our partnership with WFP to increase the intake of nutrition and health for school-age children from lower economic classes, as well as to raise funds for WFP's school meals programs and increase public awareness about hunger issues of children.
Unilever believes that every child has the right to nutrition and health that he needs to develop physical and mental potential maximum. Hunger and unbalanced nutrition is still the biggest threat to the health of children around the world, with one child dying every six seconds from hunger and related diseases. Together for Child Vitality supports the achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development goals, especially the first goal are: eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, and the second is to achieve equitable primary education.
Five countries will be assisted by the cooperation program in 2010 are Kenya, Indonesia, Ghana, Columbia, and the Philippines.

WFP is present in the joint venture with the experience of more than forty years in providing a source of food for people, especially mothers and children in the poorest countries in the world. This organization has a special knowledge about nutrition and eating habits, and supported by experts in the field of food, as well as by government agencies particularly in health.
WFP's largest humanitarian organization in the world, fight hunger faced by the entire world and also the largest provider of food for the school has ever seen. Food is available at the school was able to attract children to come to school, increasing the number of applicants the school, performance, and also motivate students to finish their education properly. The total contribution to Unilever in the WFP in 2009 amounted to 2.6 million Euros. A total of 1.92 million Euros have been used to support approximately 17 million, school feeding for 80,000 children through WFP's school meals program in Kenya, Ghana, Indonesia, Colombia, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka. 100.00 Euro has been donated to WFP in Indonesia reinforcements to respond to the September 2009 tropical storm. The funds are channeled to development and also some activity related to the WFP school feeding programs, including development and implementation of nutrition and health campaigns in Kenya, Colombia and Indonesia.
